The Purple Farm & Lavendar Wands

For years now I have wanted to learn how to make these clever little "Lavendar Wands" and today I had my chance. The lavendar picking season is at its end so I went back the Purple Farm this evening after supper to pick some Grosso, I'll be busy this week doing you know what with it!

Life's a beach!

FINALLY, we made it to the shore this year and as usual Rocky Neck did not disappoint.
Oh my golly do we ever love this beach, no its not home, but its just as good!

The shells he finds along the shore,
selected by his hand, not bought at the store.
Poem by Mae
Yea its hokey, but you should see all the shells he brought home!

I'm telling you, New Englanders love a parade!

And today we celebrated the Old Home Day Parade here in East Hampton, Connecticut's largest parade to date!
Last year it was 1hr30min, this year it was 1hr45 min.
Here is a shot of Mason in the "Mardi Gras" Boy Scout float, honestly, a ride was the way to go, it was a beautiful day but hot none the less.

I've seen a lot of parades, naturally I live in New England, but today there were some exceptions like the Shriners, some of whose ranks came from not only from CT but MA as well and they were shining, check out this hot dogger!

Mmmm, early girl...

Mason has been watching this one carefully over the past couple of weeks, taking special note of the color changes; green, yellow, orange and finally an edible RED!
