Talcott Mountain
Park #3 in the great pursuit was Talcott Mountain and the Heublein Tower which was really cool since we had never been there and it was on our "to do" list. Yes, it was a haul getting up that mountain but our efforts were rewarded, the views were spectacular! One of the best parts; we saw 2 snakes, one garter, one black and oh what a perfect day for it is all I can say!
Afterwards we stopped in Hartford on the way home for a little Bushnell Park carousel fun and lo & behold they have finally started to repair the playground area; Hallelujah! This park is awesome but the spray/river area has been in desperate need of an overhaul for at least the past 5 years that we have been visiting. Didn't stay long as the park was closed but Mason did get a ride in on the carousel. Another pleasant surprise; the normally deafening music inside the carousel was well within acceptable decibel limits, whoo hoo!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM MUM!
The fun didn't stop with a ride on the carousel. We celebrated mum mum's birthday tonight with dinner and a trip to the East Hampton Lanes. After bowling Mason gave mum mum a private concert and we all gathered around the piano for a roaring rendition of Happy Birthday before eating some delicious birthday cake!
Those piano lessons have finally started to pay off!
